Lip Filler Removal Guide (TL foreign body removal)



TL foreign body removal which is a foreign body granuloma is a non-allergic chronic inflammatory reaction that is mainly composed of multinucleated giant cells. Foreign body granulomas may occur after the administration of any dermal filler. Factors such as the volume of the injection, impurities present in the fillers, and the physical properties of fillers affect granuloma formation. The formation of granulomas involves five phases: protein adsorption, macrophage adhesion, macrophage fusion, and crosstalk. The clinical and pathologic features of granulomas vary depending on the type of filler that causes them. Foreign body removal can be treated effectively with intralesional corticosteroid injections. Surgical excisions of granulomas tend to be incomplete because granulomas have ill-defined borders and moreover, surgical excisions may leave scars and deformities.
 

TL foreign body removal is done through non invasive way. In order to find out the position or how depth is the injected substances we provide ultrasonic to determine the materials. TL foreign body removal can be undergoing up to 3 or more times depending on the injected substances and stage of infections.   
 The foreign body reaction is the final stage of inflammation and wound healing process which occurs after implantation of various material such as a prosthesis, biomaterials or medical device, which is composed of macrophages and foreign body giant cells.




                In general, foreign body granulomas are not allergic reactions and are often triggered by a systemic bacterial infection, which means that it is not yet possible to predict which patients are at risk. The aim of this article is to present a review of the literature regarding the definition, pathophysiology, clinical features, histology, and treatment of foreign body granulomas according to the type of filler used.
  









TL foreign body removal treatment involves a series of very precise injections of Hyalase (Hyaluronidase) into the targeted area or use of accu laser to remove actual injected substances after precise diagnosis of ultrasound. The ultrasound will predict how deep and where the injected materials are positioned. The non invasive surgical method use of accu laser is performed under Iv sedation and patients report minimal discomfort after the procedure, a local anaesthetic cream is applied to minimize stinging sensation. Hyalase (Hyaluronidase) works very quickly, providing some visible results instantly with most of the effect usually taking place within 24 hours.
